Believe Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Believe is designed to help people reshape the way they think through a 90-day practice. This policy explains what data Believe handles in version 1 of the app.
Summary
- Believe does not require an account in v1.
- Believe stores practice data on the user's device.
- Believe can request permission for notifications and microphone access.
- If enabled, the user's identity statement may appear in widgets and the midday reminder notification.
- Believe offers optional anonymous usage analytics stored locally on-device.
- Believe may rely on Apple's aggregated App Store Connect analytics and crash dashboards.
- Believe does not sell personal information.
Data Believe stores
Depending on how the user chooses to use the app, Believe may store:
- identity statements
- check-in data
- gratitude reflections
- PERMA and weekly survey entries
- reminder preferences
- onboarding and privacy consent choices
- optional anonymous usage analytics
- locally recorded audio files
Where data is stored
In v1, Believe stores app data locally on the device using Apple platform storage. Audio recordings are stored locally on the device so the user can play them back in the app.
Permissions
Believe may ask for:
- Microphone access, to record a user's identity statement for playback
- Notification access, to send reminder notifications chosen by the user
If a user denies either permission, the rest of the app can still be used except for the specific feature that depends on that permission.
Notifications and widgets
If the user enables notifications, Believe may show the user's identity statement in the midday reminder notification. This may be visible on the lock screen, notification banner, or notification history depending on the user's iPhone settings.
If the user adds a Believe widget, the identity statement and summary practice information may appear on the Home Screen or Lock Screen through Apple's widget system.
Analytics
Believe offers optional anonymous usage analytics. If enabled, Believe may store app events such as app opens, completed check-ins, lessons viewed, and audio playback counts. In v1, this analytics history is stored locally on-device and can be cleared by disabling analytics or clearing app data.
Believe is not designed to include the user's identity statement, gratitude text, PERMA answers, or audio content in analytics events.
Believe may also use Apple's aggregated App Store Connect analytics and crash reporting tools to review high-level app performance, downloads, retention, and crash trends. These Apple dashboards are provided by Apple and are not used to store the user's journal text, identity statement text, PERMA answers, or audio content.
Legal bases and privacy rights
If privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA apply, Believe intends to rely on:
- user consent for optional analytics
- necessity to provide the app's core functionality for local storage used to run the app
Users can review the privacy policy inside the app, turn optional analytics off, clear app data from within the app, remove the app from their device, visit the public support page, or contact support at storm@noseysuze.com.
Sharing
In v1, Believe is not designed to share user practice data with third-party advertising networks or data brokers.
Data retention
Data remains on the device until the user clears it, disables analytics where applicable, or removes the app.
Children
Believe is not directed to children under 13.
Health disclaimer
Believe is a self-guided wellbeing tool and is not medical care, mental health treatment, crisis support, or therapy.
